Market Report--August 15, 2024

 Firstly this week I want to say thank you to the entire ELM Crew for putting in the hours this week in unbelievable heat once again. Triple digit heat, no wind, and a humidity that stole the air from your lungs hung on this place all day and you all finished the deal! From my position, it's a fine line to walk trying to push you all to keep the pace and understanding the microwave you are working in. I thank you all.

As far as the market goes, higher on all classes this week as the board put some legs under it after last weeks losses and we sold them just in time for Friday's board to fall off once again. Over 1000 Feeder Steers sold this week to excellent trade, calves were stout on almost entirely bawling calves, and cows held their own as well.

This facility has been capable of doing big things since the day it was built by the Winter Family over 30 years ago. You producers who continue to send your cattle in here have drawn some of the best buyers this salebarn has ever seen. From the crack of the gate in the morning we sell to the top Cow and Bull buyers in the region and carry that momentum into the Feeder and calf runs. My job is to find the market and hold it all day. It's easy to do with the kind of people we sell for and market to.
